Actually, they weren’t even his own comments according to what I’ve heard.  He was reading from a Medieval text.  I have no problem with what he read, he has a right to read/quote from any text he wants too – oh, wait, I forgot – but we’re not dealing with folks that understand rights and freedom of speech when it comes to Muslims.

I don’t know about you, but I am just plain sick of tired of the whole PC thing and having to be sensitive to their religion while they are totally intolerant of ours.  Wait, they are intolerant of more than just our religion, they are intolerant, period.

In light of their asking for an apology, I thought about 9/11, and the Muslim reaction shown on the news of so many of them dancing in the streets over killing Americans.  So, did any Muslim leader come out and say sorry for that?  Please tell me, because it seems the apology thing goes only one way with these people.  I mean, I think an apology would be warranted for celebrating the death of Americans than over the Pope making some comments, but wait.  They go around burning churches and now I hear they found a dead Nun in response and have threatened to respond with suicide bombers against the Pope???!!!  All this for some words, but no apology for us when our feelings get hurt by them.

I think it’s just plain crazy that we have to be held to a higher standard than they do.  Further, I want to see a Muslim leader come and apologize for the reaction of Muslims in this matter with the Pope.  But I won’t go killing any old Muslim women, burn down any mosque’s or threaten anyone for the apology.  Maybe I’m just a better person.

It is all so simple. First, we are talking about a population that has mixed concepts, thinking, etc. If we say Muslim the age range is what? New born to 100 ? Muslim is a name.

There are many Muslims that have a higher standard about ethics, etc then I do and many have a lower one.

One great guide to make it from birth to death is to bw non-judgemental. To accept people.

I hold that people who hold a public office have an obligation not to offend others. In fact, perhaps we all do.

The Japanese term for harmony is wa and we need more wa in this world.

If I was giving advice to a religious leader I would suggest that he/she visit the offender. Not make a public statement except to to wish them love.

The Pope and all followers of anything should set an example. Not a question of standards. Who sets the standards anyway.

  2. Perhaps the problem is that the kinder and gentler Muslims are not making themselves visible. And pehaps the media hypes the violent ones and taints out perception of them as a group.

Hurtful as this is, there was one Muslim taxi driver who was driving my mother to bingo and told her the victims of 9/11 “deserved to die.” Outrageous.

And your comments on acceptance are wonderful, but it’s an ideal. I don’t see people around the globe accepting each other, let alone Muslim and non-Muslim.

  3. Have you seen the news today? MANY were on the same side as me on this issue and it was good to hear others are out there feeling the same frustration on the Muslim (Extremist?) reaction.

No one, in America (or anywhere else) is going to go around having to be PC for terrorists. They resort to violence in an effort to impose their will upon others, enough already!

I do think it’s time WE protested their reaction too.

Further, to hear their “leaders” come out and speak today made nothing better – they are just as bad as the rest it seems – making demands for an apology that isn’t required. Are these people so dumb that they can’t analyze the Pope’s comments and realize that they TOOK THEM OUT OF CONTEXT and they were wrong to begin with? So then why do they require an apology?
